During my translation courses, I've learned that we have to look for equ ivalents when it comes to translating proverbs
you are right .. loggerhead means
ابله /مغفل/ راس ضخم /
but "at loggerheads" is an idiom which means "not agreeing, opposed to each other " that's why I chose it
حيلهم بينهم = الفخار يكسر بعضه = at loggerheads

Your use of this idiom here reflects the cleverness of your mind …….but I think that the proverb has to deal with strength so fire is the sample of that…………what can you say??
