*1-Pre-teaching ( your preparation to the lesson and students’ interaction and reaction )
Most of our******** neglect the first stage (pre-teaching) which I consider the most important stage because it helps you to be a self-confident teacher.
You shouldn’t only prepare your lessons but also prepare yourself well to students’ expected and unexpected reactions and interaction . This makes students trust you and creates motivation from students for learning and prevents some problems dealing with discipline inside the classroom.*
*2-While-teaching (everything will happen inside the classroom )
*3-Post-teaching(self-evaluation)
*****We will deal with all these stages in detail later.
Actions that ******** take in first lessons:
1-Introduce yourself.
2-Students introduce themselves or each other
or learn something about each other.
3-Establish a particular classroom atmosphere ooperative and respectful.
4-Learn about learners’ expectations.
5-Establish a code of classroom conduct( acceptable behaviours , etc ).You and your students can set classroom rules because if the rules come from the students , they will be more willing to follow them then write the rules on a large sheet of paper and hung it in the classroom. This point is very important because it deals with classroom management which I will put it forward later .
Note: What are your suggestions to maintain discipline inside classroom and what will you do if a student breaks the rules?
6-Present the course oint out important information about course content ,ways of working , assessment.
7-Pre-test students to assess their proficiency level.

Salam,
I have read many topics here asking how to teach reading.
So, I have decided to write this topic to u and hope u benefit from it.
There are important steps to teach any reading lesson to any grade.
The lesson is divided into: introduction ( pre-reading ) , the body of the lesson ( during reading ) and the summery ( after reading).
Introduction:It is a very important step in the lesson because it attracts sts to the lesson and make them guess the title of the lesson.
You can start the lesson with appropriate pictures , proverb ,short stories….etc.
For example, if the lesson about food , we can start the lesson with this proverb : An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
U can write this proverb on the board and ask a student to read. Then say what do you understand from it. With many questions, sts can guess the title.
After that, ask sts to open their books . Ask sts to read the title , the subheading and the caption.
Ask : How many paragraphs are there ?
Talk about the pictures if they are found
Silent Reading:Ask sts to read the passage silently to answer ( usually I ask sts to underline the answers) given questions. ( specify time ).
Then ask sts to stop reading and answer the questions orally.*
Reading and Discussion :Ask sts to read paragraphs individually ( Here it depends on the level of ur students )*
If they are secondary , ask excellent sts to read. ( you don’t need to read)
After a student finish reading the paragraph, discuss it with sts by asking them many questions about it and explain the new words.
If the passage is long, don’t read all of it but the most important idea in each paragraph.
After Reading :This is time of evaluation
*
It is better to use a *****heet and ask sts to work in groups. ( it is important to specify time)
I think these are the most important steps in teaching reading.
Hope that helps,
