Technology Specialist (IT)
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing senior level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall systems architecture. Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring integration with multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise. Reviews, advises and designs standard software and hardware builds, system options, risks, cost versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process and goals. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards. Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process. Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate. Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise’s architecture needs. Lead technical role. Defines systems architecture and design for the enterprise. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert. Works on projects / issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Coaches and mentors junior technical staff. Design and deploy the release of new technologies. Responsible for maintaining the server and storage infrastructure. - Administration and maintenance of Active Directory - Administration and maintenance of VMware vSphere - Administration and maintenance of MS Azure - Administration and maintenance of AWS - Ability to understand and grasp Applications, concepts and technologies quickly - Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently - Ability to make independent decisions within the bounds of management guidance - Ability to function efficiently and effectively in a complex, diverse and fast-paced operating environment - Ability to keep good documentation. - Ability to follow policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience. - Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Typically possesses 3 to 10 years of relevant work experience. - Performs work that is complex and varied in nature. Defines and discerns key aspects of a problem and develops an integrated solution within a broad technical and business context of significant impact. Provide guidance/training to more junior staff.
