Job Title: Safety Officer
Location – Jubail
Job Description:
As a Safety Officer at AlShalawi Logistics Transport, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your primary goal will be to create a safe working environment for all employees and minimize the risk of accidents or incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure the workplace meets safety requirements.
- Provide safety training to employees, including new hires, and conduct safety awareness programs to promote a culture of safety.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including statistics on incidents, near misses, and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with management and relevant stakeholders to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks in the workplace.
- Maintain safety-related documentation, including records of inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Serve as a resource for employees on safety-related matters, answering questions and providing guidance as needed.
- Participate in safety meetings and committees to discuss safety issues, share best practices, and drive safety initiatives forward.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in safety performance and implement measures to enhance safety culture and practices.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on safety-related matters as necessary.
- Foster a positive safety culture by promoting awareness, engagement, and accountability among employees at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent certification.
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) certification.
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Transferable Iqama with the iqama profession listed as Safety.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards as per the logistics and transport industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and risk assessments, Trainings.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety excellence.
