BROADCAST SYSTEMS ENGINEER

JOB GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Broadcast Equipment operation and maintenance of (DIGITAL & ANALOG); Video Camera, Video Disc Recorder & VTR (HDCAM, HDCAM-SR, XDCAM, XDCAM-HD, XDCAM-EX, HDV, DVCAM, DV, Betacam SP, Betacam SX & U-matic), Monitors (LCD, HD TV & Plasma ), IP Camera, 4K Projector, CCTV, Video Switcher MVS-8000 & MVS- 6000, HD CANON Lenses, HD FUJINON Lenses & Professional Audio products
• Broadcast integration ;Installand operates various broadcasting equipment such as Video/ Data/ RF/ ASI Routers, Multi-viewers,Video Production Switchers, Mixers, Video servers, Automation, Talk-back System, Tele-prompters, Glue, Graphic System, NLE Systems etc. Checks equipment for operational readiness; provides technical and operational assistance/ instructions to team members as needed.
• Broadcast Wiring Solution
• Testing and maintaining broadcast and transmission equipment
• Quickly finding and repairing technical faults, with minimum disruption to service.
• Setting up studio equipment for transmission and editing
• Broadcast Equipment maintenance & Repair
• Audio Visual installation & Repair
• Chip level repairing for all Broadcast and Pro Equipment’s
• Experienced with integration of Evertz, Sony, Snell, Miranda, ETL- Video routers Multiveiwrs, ASI routers and RF Routers
• MCR ,PCR, VOB, NOC, CAR, Ingest edit Suites ,Play out and Studio Installation and Technical Support
• Knowledge of network hardware, software & integration with other Network and Broadcast systems such as Ethernet, Audio & Video routers.
• Demonstrated understanding of electrical and cable/fiber operations and systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of professional/commercial audio and visual equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of Encoder, Transcoder, Origin Server and Packager, in particular using Harmonic and Cisco equipment.
• Knowledge of video transport mechanism, Closed Caption, HD/SD feeds, VOD assets, content preparation, uplink and downlink.
• Technical support of network hardware, & integration with other network and broadcast systems such as Audio, Video & Ethernet &Fibre Network Routers.
• Knowledge of L- Band RF Router, L- band combiner ,L-band spliter/ combiner, L- band Matrix
• “Hands on” engineer capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Lead and manage multiple projects from conceptual stage through to launch including budget tracking and reporting
• Develop new workflows designed to improve quality and reduce flaws
• Design and implement permanent technical solutions
• Partner with Studio Operations and Field Operations groups to maintain systems and complete technology projects
• Seek opportunities to reduce spend/increase newsgathering efficiency by implementation of smart technology
• Experience in field operations including Trucks, Satellite, Microwave and IP newsgathering technologies
• Leverage computing concepts to develop innovative solutions for complex architecture and operational challenges.
• Strong Interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels of management & user community.
• Must possess strong multitasking skills
• Video Codecs and transcoding
• On-air quality control, including, but not limited to;
• Broadcast acquisition, production, playout and archive
• Web & Social platforms
• Make new technology recommendations, identify best practices and establish high operating standards.

JOB EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of managing mission critical Broadcast / IT environments at a TV Station: preferably in News.
• Experience in building large scale systems to support business
• Project Management
• Extensive experience in Broadcast Systems, Networking, Servers, Desktop, Monitoring, end user support, Reading and Creating Detailed AutoCAD documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels of management & user community
