Instrument Technician


JOB PURPOSE

Job Specific Accountabilities
• Receives the Maintenance Work Order (MWO) with priorities from the Supervisor.
• Reviews the job by checking the necessary documentation such as P & ID’s, loop files, etc.
• Carries out housekeeping after completion of the job.
• Updates equipment records upon completion of work by filling forms or making necessary computer entries and returns MWO to supervisor for sign-off.
• Carries out the repair works on various instruments such as transmitters, switches, controllers, control valves, Safety valves CCTV systems and monitors, vibration and temperature monitors, pressure/temperature gauges and transducers, etc. Also, performs troubleshooting works on control loop, annunciator systems, etc.
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance works on all general instruments and systems such as SCADA / PLC / DCS / ESD systems, Analyzers, Control valves, weighing / bagging machines, Gas Detection System. Updates PM records as and when the PM works are performed.
• Carries out other similar or related duties such as checking and utilizing instrument surplus materials.
• Safety, Health & Environment
Complies with all relevant safety , health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.


Requirements
Academic and professional qualifications:
Completion of Diploma / ITI education, followed by 2 years technical training in instrumentation or electronics.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years shutdown experience in Refinery, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers or Equivalent industries.
Knowledge
-Technically competent in Field Instruments installation, Maintenance, Calibration, trouble shooting.
-Experience Low voltage switchgear maintenance like, ACB, MCCB, contractors, soft starters, VFD etc. Able to read and trouble shoot the electrical drawings.

Skills:
- Must have the knowledge, experience and skills to perform instrumentation maintenance and repair work
- Have good English Written and oral

Competencies:
*Should have good knowledge of different software programs like SAP.
*Should have good knowledge on MS office, windows, MS outlook.
