Introduction:

The Quantity Surveyor will be reporting to the Projects Control Manager and is responsible for all quantity surveying activities. He should preferably have pre-contract experience and previous main contractor experience is desirable.

Responsibilities:

Issue Purchase Requisitions , work orders and payment requests manually or on ERP.
Verify/Assess Interim payment Certificate as per Contracts Terms and Conditions and submit to accounts department.
Weekly Report for Issued requests and follow up for pending Requisition.
Prepare Take-off for quantities from drawings.
Specification Verification with the technical Team.
Label Index to Maintain all Invoices Records (Hard and Soft Copy).
Prepare a 'Scope of work and Bill of Quantities’, which lists the individual, required constructing the project.
Calculating quantities and unit rates from previous projects for estimation purposes for new projects.
Comparing Tender or shop drawings with IFC Drawings for Variation Orders.
Monitoring Contractors cost control procedures throughout the duration of the project including the Construction Phase, Final Account and Defects Maintenance Phase.
Implementing and maintaining all required cost control and audit procedures for all Project Cost Control Activities designed to measure the project status.
Assessing, evaluation and making recommendations related to any financial claim and providing the necessary input with regards to settling such claims.
Evaluation of all variations, additional works, field changes, additions and omission, and incorporation of the same with the Monthly Cost reports.
Preparing and pricing Change Orders and negotiating agreement with the Client and Contractor as necessary.
Negotiating contracts with the contractor in partnership with the concerned Manager and Contracts Manager.
Assisting in preparation of Invitation to Tender Packages.
Assist the Commercial Manager in reviewing the Contractor’s and Consultant’s payment applications.
Provide assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration or any other forms of dispute resolution.



Qualifications & Experience:



Applicant should meet the following criteria:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or relevant experience 5-8 years’ experience
Knowledge of measurement and estimating software.
Excellent English / Arabic language skills.
Excellent Knowledge of AutoCAD software.
MS Office - Excellent Excel and Word skills.
Knowledge of BIM and BIM measurement software.
Previous experience providing cost management support at tender and construction stage.
Knowledge of the tender process including review and analysis of tenders.
A proven track record of working for a contractor as a quantity surveyor.
Excellent skills in report writing and numerical data analysis.
Experience of working within a main contractor environment.
